In this latest infographic AT Internet provides you with the visit shares for the leading players in the web in Europe for three large markets including browsers, operating systems and search engines.

Microsoft tops two of the three markets (browsers and OS), but its rivals are making rapid progress:

  • Google has made progress on the OS market, and more so on the browser market thanks to Google Chrome which has been ranked in second place in Europe since December 2012 (No. 1 in Spain). Let’s not forget the supremacy that it has in the search engine market with more than 90% of visits in France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom.
  • Apple, whose performance has been assisted by the growth of the mobile web also has the wind in its sails: Safari, the number 4 browser in Europe (No. 2 in the UK), is getting ever closer to Mozilla, and the Apple OSs, second in Europe, now count for almost 1 visit in 6.

If Microsoft feels somewhat worried about the state of the browser market (Google Chrome is only 6 points behind Internet Explorer), it remains well in front on the OS market (more than 60 points separate Microsoft from Apple).
